Whether you are coming here for a modest trim or going for an entirely bold new look (perhaps lightening up your brunette tresses for the summer), the down-to-earth Vinci and her talented team of personable stylists will have you looking completely gorgeous in no time.

The award-winning hair colorist made her initial celebrity mark in the fashion and beauty world when she won “Best Hair on the Red Carpet” at the Toronto Film Festival in 2003. Since then, when Hollywood now comes to Boston to shoot on location (like the cast of “American Hustle” did), Boston’s go-to colorist rolls out the hair coloring red carpet when it comes to creating highlights, lowlights, Balayage, Ombre and everything in between.

Vinci, who is trained in the parametrics hair cutting system, also received extensive color training from Wella, Redken, and Schwarzkopf. Before returning to Boston to open her salon here nearly a decade ago, she spent some time on the West Coast learning the art of balayage from some of the industry’s top celebrity artists.

Throughout the years, Vinci, who has led the hair department during the NBC/Universal Upfronts for the past decade, has received local accolades for her precise hair coloring techniques and gained national praise for her keen eye for detail when it comes to hair color. Named “Best Balayage,” “Best Chic Pixie Cut,” “Top 100 Salons in America” and “Best Hair Color in Boston,” her chic Newbury Street salon, which she opened in 2008, is where Boston’s most fashionable men and women come for some of the most natural coloring in town.

She recently shared with us what we can expect to see this spring in haute hair trends. “Balayage is a huge trend and technique,” Vinci said. “I have been doing it for the last decade. Ombre is still in, but more subtle and not as severe. The beachy look is also in with braids and hair jewelry. Clean parts are also in style and look great with super long hair extensions. When I do Balayage, I look to create clean, natural highlights. Balayage is a technical process that comes out so beautiful when done right. What makes it so unique is no two people are alike because it is hand painting the highlights onto the hair. It’s like creating a vision of how you want the pieces to end up.”
