Husband-and-wife team Nicky and Laetitia Dewhurst teamed up to direct Cirque du Soleil’s fifth annual “One Night for One Drop” show on March 3 at Zumanity Theater at New York-New York. The duo perform together as clowns in Zumanity by Cirque du Soleil, while Nicky’s father and Laetitia’s brother also star in the show — making this the first time the event has been a true “family affair.”

Born in the UK, Laetitia trained as a dancer and gymnast and eventually joined Cirque in Zumanity, first as a dancer and then performing a strap aerial act, the pole act and is currently working with her husband as the back up clown. She also choreographed acts for Crazy Horse, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and Delyria, a circus cabaret. She is currently choreographing for Celebrity Cruise Line.

Nicky grew up in London in a circus family. He initially joined Cirque’s Eclipse, and went on to perform a solo tightrope act in the European tour of Cirque Reinvente. He joined forces with his Father to perform a Duo tightrope act in Nouvelle Experience and Fascination. In 1998 Nicky rejoined Cirque as the “Pink Guy” in Mystere, where he once again teamed up
with his father, the clown “Brian Le Petit,” playing opposite him until in 2005. Then Nicky
joined Zumanity, where he created the clown character “Dick.” In 2015 Nicky was comedic writer and director for the International Tour of Delyria, a circus cabaret. Most recently Nicky co-wrote and directed the new clown acts in Zumanity, which he performs today.
