If there’s anyone who has experience as a beauty expert, it’s Mariah Carey. This former beauty school student has been glammed to the nines since the release of her eponymous first CD release in 1990. Now, after a successful partnership with MAC Cosmetics last year on the “All I Want” lipstick (a nod to her smash holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas(Is You),” and holiday collection, the icon has once again collaborated with the comsetics company on a complete range of products from brushes to false eyelashes, lipsticks, lipglasses and lip pencils, powder, highlighter, eyeliner and blush, all contained in beautiful glittery packaging with champagne gold accents and Mariah’s signature. Buyers will find sexy nude tones that sparkle like champagne and glitter like diamonds. Here, the songbird, who you can now watch on the E! network on her own reality show, Mariah’s World, sits down with Haute Living to discuss the collection, beauty and what makes her feel beautiful.

How would you describe your new collection?
Glamourous, elegant and wearable. This collection is truly for everyone. The range of products and colors allows you to have a more neutral look for day and then bump it up to a more glamourous look for night.
Why is working with MAC such a strong fit for you?
I’ve always worn M·A·C, both on and off stage. We had so much fun creating the lipstick last year so it was a natural progression for us to create a larger collection. Going from having 1 product to 23 products was so exciting!
Have you always been a beauty girl? What’s your first memory of playing with makeup?
I’ve always been a makeup girl. I went to beauty school when I was younger.
Do you have a favorite item in the collection? How would you recommend it be worn?
It’s really hard to choose just one but I’ll have to go with the blush. My favorite MAC product of all time is the blush in Pink Swoon. We created something similar in You’ve Got Me Feeling and I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect pink for your cheeks.
What is your go-to beauty rule?
Less is more when it comes to makeup. That’s one I always follow.
What makes you feel beautiful on a daily basis? Makeup, a mantra, etc?
I truly believe that glow comes from within. If you are happy and enjoying life it shines through.
At the moment, what DO You want most of all?
I am extremely blessed to be able to do what I want to do and explore all my interests at this point in my life. I have two beautiful, healthy, happy babies who light up my life and everything else is icing on the cake.
What to you is the greatest luxury in life?
My babies, music and laughter.
