Barry’s Bootcamp Expanding to SF’s Financial District
One of our favorite boutique workout studios, Barry’s Bootcamp, is expanding. The intense workout brand has announced plans to open its third location in the spring of 2017. Construction at the Financial District Barry’s (at 333 Bush Street, in between Kearny and Montgomery) is already underway. The 5,800 square foot space will have a locker room that is larger than the other two locations’s locker rooms with amenities by Malin+Goetz. The studio will have a full schedule of morning, mid-day, and evening classes and a new 50-minute power series. The power breakfast and power lunch classes in the mornings and early afternoons will be offered exclusively at the FiDi Barry’s.
“We are thrilled to expand Barry’s in San Francisco with the opening of our Financial District studio early next year,” owner Adam Shane said in a statement. “It was extremely important for us to find a central location that would afford both existing and new clients the opportunity to regularly and easily experience Barry’s. We look forward to showcasing the new studio, which will give clients the option to enjoy an incredible workout and get right to the office or stay and hang with us for a while. Either way, we will continue to create a place where individuals can come together to become a part of the San Francisco Barry’s community. We are like a big family.”
Although Barry’s Bootcamp was founded in 1998, it only arrived in SF in 2014. Since then, the workout, which consists of alternating treadmill and weight-training circuits, has developed a cult-like following and for good reason. In one class alone, bootcampers can burn up to 1000 calories making it one of the best cardio workouts in the city. Shane opened the first Barry’s in SoMa near AT&T Park. A second location in the Marina (on Lombard Street) opened a year ago. The latest addition to the family, the Fidi studio, will have complimentary towel service, 25 treadmills, and space for 50 people per class. It’s located on the ground floor of a 43-story mixed use office and residential building. A Barry’s Fuel Bar will offer grab and go snacks, fruit smoothies, and protein shakes. The newest location is just the start of Shane’s expansion plans. Barry’s Bootcamp will be coming soon to more Bay Area cities at undisclosed locations on the Peninsula, and in the East Bay, and Marin county.
