Where the Private Jets Are Heading this Labor Day
Wondering just where all the private jets (or PJs) are heading to on Labor Day weekend? The Hamptons? Aspen? Interestingly enough, it seems as though a lot of them are heading to Miami. In fact, Miami is the number one destination from both New York and Los Angeles according to Victor, and on-demand private jet company who shared their Labor Day stats with us.
Sure they might be coming for South Beach’s pool parties, or big-name DJ bacchanals like Swiss DJ Andrea Oliva at Wall, but more than likely they are coming to take advantage of a relatively quiet three-day weekend in Miami Beach at one of the area’s super luxe hotels like 1 Hotel South Beach, St. Regis, Soho House or Edition. Billionaire playgrounds like the the waterfront playground that is the River Yacht Club will be hosting a Labor Day Soiree on Saturday, September 3rd from 2 to 6pm. If you’re looking for action on the actual Labor Day, it would help to be a Soho Beach House member, which will be hosting a BBQ on Monday, September 5th.
The second most popular destination from all three cities examined (Los Angeles, New York and Chicago) is Las Vegas. Known for their big Labor Day bacchanals, the destination isn’t that surprising. They’ll have some pretty big names over the weekend like Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Kevin Heart and Kygo so it’s easy to see the draw. Less expected destinations from Chicago include Boston and Hilton Head for decidedly different kinds of holidays.
Even if you don’t have your own G4 in your own private hanger, there are many ways than ever to fly private these days, including fractional share companies like NetJets. The easiest of all might be JetSmarter, a members-only program that offers two levels of membership and unlimited possibilities. They recently launched private JetShuttle service from New York to London.
