There is an interesting new menswear concept store in The Wynwood Arcade called Bonobos Guideshop, an extension of bonobos.com. While the term “concept store” gets bandied about rather cavalierly these days, this one really is very different. You can shop all you want, but you won’t leave with any bags. Instead, you try on, touch and feel the store’s extensive inventory which includes men’s suits, trousers, denim, shirts, shorts, swimwear, outerwear and accessories. They keep one of everything on hand making their expansive virtual store come to life. Every size and color will be there, so you’ll never be left wondering if maybe you might have looked better in the blue large than black medium sweater. No, everything is there.
Rather than searching for assistance, customers are assigned a Guide upon arrival. Similar to personal shoppers, Bonobos Guides are experts trained in fit and style who lead customers through the wide range of Bonobos merchandise.
One of the brand’s original missions was to create a more fitted khaki pant, avoiding unflattering fits. So it goes to say that fit and styling are a main focus and the Guideshop is designed around the fitting room experience complete with a lounge space for friends and family.
After check out, Bonobos leverages their e-commerce shipping services to send all items to customers, free of charge. That means no lugging around bags, which can be especially handy for travelers or those that want to spend a little time sightseeing in Wynwood. The store is the first Bonobos Guideshop in Florida, and opened this August. The idea was pioneered by Bonobos in 2011, in New York City, where they tested the idea of having a physical shop to try on the brand’s unique items. Needless to say, it worked very well and became an important part of Bobobos’ model.
Bonobos Guideshop Miami at Wynwood Arcade is the brand’s twenty-third store nationwide. The Guideshop is located at 50 NW 24thStreet. The retail entrance is conveniently located on 24th Street between NW 2nd Avenue and N Miami Avenue.
