Pro Snowboarder Chloe Kim Shares Her Haute Secrets to Los Angeles
At just 16 years old, Chloe Kim, a first-generation Korean American and LA local, is the youngest member of the U.S. Snowboard Pro team. With the industry calling her a teen prodigy and the future of women’s snowboarding, Chloe won her second-consecutive X Games gold at Aspen 2016, becoming only the second woman to land a 1080. She made history again the following week at the Park City Grand Prix as the first woman to land back-to-back 1080s, scoring a perfect 100. Having earned her first X Games medal at age 13, she is the only X Games athlete ever to win two golds before the age of 16. This year, Chloe turned 16 and celebrated her milestone birthday by singing a multi-year partnership with Toyota as the newest addition to the elite group of athletes sponsored by the world’s largest automaker. In the winter action sports discipline, she joins the ranks of fellow iconic riders Amy Purdy, Elena Hight, Louie Vito and Travis Rice as Team Toyota. If that isn’t reason enough to be excited about the future, Chloe was named one of Time Magazine’s “30 Most Influential Teens of 2015” and NBC’s Top 10 athletes to watch for the 2018 Winter Games. Here, this athletic prodigy shares her haute secrets to the City of Angels.
