We know you’re always looking for something unique and we’ve got something for pizza enthusiasts—the $100 “Super Gold Pizza” created by Pizza Maestro Tony Gemignani to celebrate Super Bowl 50 coming to the San Francisco Bay Area next month and to raise money for charity.  The “Super Gold Pizza” is now offered at Tony’s Pizza Napoletana through Super Bowl Sunday (February 7, 2016). In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Big Game, only 50 of these pizzas will be made.

The “Super Gold Pizza” is a wood-fired pizza topped with gold flakes, white truffles, and 24-month San Daniele Prosciutto, in addition to a sprinkling of mâche, Far West Fungi’s Clamshell, Lion’s Mane, and Yellow Oyster mushrooms, Fromage Blanc and Carmody cheese from Bellwether Farms, and Grande Whole Milk mozzarella, finished with Maldon salt, on multi-grain dough.

This special pizza is $100 and all proceeds from the “Super Gold Pizza” will benefit the Kick Hunger Challenge. The $5,000 raised will be donated through the Kick Hunger Challenge, in the name of the 49ers, to SF Marin Food Bank and St. Anthony’s San Francisco. The pizzas are only available at Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, 1570 Stockton Street, until Feb. 7, or until all 50 pizzas are sold. Sorry, no take out.

“We are always looking for ways to give back to the city and with the Super Bowl coming to San Francisco this year, I thought this would be a great way to combine my craft, my city, and the big game,” Gemignani says.

Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, which opened its famous doors in North Beach in 2009, is open Monday, 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.; Wednesday through Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; closed Tuesdays. For more information, please call 415.835.9888, or visit www.tonyspizzanapoletana.com. In addition to the “Super Gold Pizza,” you’ll find Gemignani’s handcrafted award-winning pizzas utilizing the same Cirigliano wood-burning oven used to win 2007 World Champion Pizza Maker at the World Pizza Cup in Naples, Italy, where he was the first American and non-Neapolitan victor. In case you miss out on the “Super Gold Pizza,” the pizzeria also offers several styles of pizzas, including Classic American, Italian, Sicilian and Neapolitan pizzas artfully made with artisan flours, an array of authentic sauces, and seasonal ingredients and finished in seven different, regionally-specific ovens.
