In just 10 days, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, alongside the local arts community, will celebrate the box office opening as well as kickoff the season with ArtsLaunch2015.
ArtsLaunch2015 will commence with “ArtsTalk2015: A Community Conversation.” The symposium, hosted by the Knight Foundation, will focus on what Miami’s culture will look and feel like in 10 years. “ArtsTalk2015: A Community Conversation” is slated to be start 9:30 a.m. and will last until 11 a.m. During the same time, until 2 p.m., the farmer’s market will be open to the community. At 10 a.m., the box office will open for the first time for the 10th anniversary season. A few shows to look forward to includes Kinky Boots, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, Motown the Musical, Hip Hop Nutcracker and much more.
“Each year, Miami’s arts and culture scene evolves to cater to our unique and increasingly dynamic population. This year we wanted to celebrate this diversity and the start of our milestone 10th anniversary season by bringing together the local arts community’s thought leaders and patrons,” said John Richard, president and CEO of the Arsht Center.
Other things to look forward to include:
- Complimentary Food (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) Under the direction of Chef Allen Susser The Café at Books & Books features a café-style restaurant with delightful outdoor seating, table service, a specialty coffee bar and a full beer, wine and liquor bar. BRAVA!, conveniently located on the second floor of the Ziff Ballet Opera House, serves a farm-to-table inspired fine-dining menu designed by Chef Hector Torres of Spectra. In addition, BRAVA! will have a $20 unlimited mimosas special available to all guests.
- Interactive Workshops (11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.) Check out “behind-the-scenes” workshops presented by Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, New World Symphony and Cleveland Orchestra Miami!
- Face Painting and Coloring (12 p.m.-4 p.m.) At the Ziff Ballet Opera House Lobby the whole family can enjoy face painting, coloring and crafts in celebration of the Arsht Center and Broadway Across America’s 10th season of Broadway in Miami!
