MIA: Del Toro Hosts Re-Opening of Luxury Shoe and Accessory Boutique
On July 30 Miami-based luxury lifestyle brand Del Toro hosted a grand re-opening for it’s namesake boutique that attracted famous faces like Haute 100 lister Romero Britto, the point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving and Jonathan Cheban, BFF of Kim Kardashian, on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
They aren’t the only boldface fans of the shoe and accessory brand. The shoes also have seen the feet of NBA ballers like the Heat’s Dwayne Wade and, rumored beau of Khloe Kardashian, Houston Rocket’s player James Harden. It could be the fact that the brand is in the midst of their second collaboration with Chandler Parsons the small forward of the Dallas Mavericks. That line is expected to debut in the spring of 2016. The shoes are also available in sizes suitable for NBA players, a few of whom, happen to be fans of Del Toro’s classy loafers and upscale chukkas.
The mastermind behind the Wynwood boutique is Matthew Chevallard, the co-founder and creative director of Del Toro. Chevallard says his designs are for the “grown-up sneaker heads” and offer fresh takes on classic silhouettes with collections that include chukkas, sneakers, drivers, espadrilles and slippers. Originally for men, Del Toro has now expanded to create shoes and accessories for women as well.
Chevallard was born in Torino Italy so his style is a fusion of his Italian heritage, a Palm Beach prep aesthetic and a New York/Japanese street style. The shoes are hand crafted on Adriatic coast of Italy in the finest of Nappa leathers, suedes and velvets. You also may have seen Del Toro’s collab with M ‘oda ‘Operandi, an online luxury fashion retailer, titled Del Toro M ‘Oticons that graced the pages of Vogue more than once this past month. The colorful slippers come for men and women and feature popular emojis combinations for each foot.
