One dish most Emiratis will surely dine on at least once during Ramadan is thareed, and Angelina Tearoom is serving up an enticing version of this traditional Arabic Iftar dish in a manner worthy of upscale French cuisine. The lamb shank is slow-cooked to perfection and accompanied by a brick pastry filled with chickpeas, black beans, and cannellini. There’s also a soup consisting of spicy lamb juice, tomatoes, and onions.

Kousa Meshi

The second Ramadan special at Angelina is their kousa meshi. This veggie-heavy dish features zucchini flowers and aubergines, punctuated by stuffed sweet peppers containing lamb and three different types of rice. All of this is served up on a bed of bright green bread crusts and quinoa tabbouleh.

A lemon-infused puy lentil veloute accompanies the kousa meshi.

Baba Ganoush Souffle

What would Ramadan at a French restaurant be without a new soufflé on the menu? Indeed, the culinary team at Angelina Tearoom has really outdone itself with their baba ganoush. The warm soufflé is served on a bed of greens with mint, parsley, and pepper pickles which have been marinated in dill and cinnamon. The soufflé and greens sit inside a tasty vermicelli and parmesan salted crust. This dish is so stunning and appealing to the eye that you may just want to snap a photo of it before you dig in.

These three exquisite dishes are only available for a limited time during Ramadan, so you don’t want to miss out. Stop in before they’re off the menu. Dubai Confidential posted a fabulous review of Angelina Tearoom’s Ramadan and Iftar offerings here, so be sure to check it out.

Also New at Angelina Tearoom: Asparagus Risotto

Another new item on Angelina’s menu is asparagus risotto, which is now on the restaurant’s main course menu. It certainly looks tasty. Can’t wait to give it a try.
