Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski own restaurants together, cook together, live together [as husband and wife] and now they celebrate together once again after winning the 2015 James Beard Award for Best Chef West for their restaurant State Bird Provisions. [The duo also own The Progress, right next door.]  The awards were presented May 4 in Chicago. The San Francisco Bay Area may not have claimed as many awards as it usually does but it was still well represented. Anyone within earshot of the Marina may have heard glasses clinging at A16, where Co-Owner/Wine Director Shelley Lindgren can take full credit for the Italian eatery winning for Outstanding Wine Program. We’re also toasting Rajat Parr at RN74 for Mina Group claiming the Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits Professional award. And down in Los Gatos, cheers to Manresa’s Jessica Largey, the 2015 Rising Star Chef of the Year.
