Christmas came early to the Pearl at the Palms on Saturday night when the Brian Setzer Orchestra brought the 11th annual Christmas Rocks! Extravaganza to town. The band took to the stage with plenty of spirit as they rocked the house with Christmas songs such as “Dig That Crazy Santa Claus,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Joy to the World” mixed in with Stray Cats hits including “Rock This Town” and “Sexy & 17.” Setzer even threw in some covers performing “Ring of Fire” as well as “Jump, Jive and Wail,” the song Setzer himself gave a new life to when he covered the catchy tune in 1998. That cover won a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group the following year.

In an previously released statement, Setzer said: “The Christmas Tour has become an annual tradition for many people. It’s so enjoyable for me because not only do I get to play my own versions of holiday music, but also songs I recorded with my orchestra and the Stray Cats.”
