The 2014 Breeders’ Cup Classic was a glamorous affair thanks to support from Longines, the official partner, timekeeper and watch of the internationally renowned horse racing championship.
The World Championships are considered by many to be one of the premier thoroughbred horse racing event of the year, attracting the best horses, breeders, trainers, and owners from across the globe. The two-day affair in Arcadia consisted of 13 races with purses and awards totaling $26 million; there were four Breeders’ Cup races on Championship Friday and nine Breeders’ Cup races on Championship Saturday with “Bayern” making a wire-to-wire finish, taking home the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing for Longines and Jennifer Judkins, U.S. Brand Manager for Longines presented elegant Conquest Classic watches to the owner, breeder, trainer, jockey and stable staff of winning horses Bayern, Untapable and Main Sequence, respectively.

In keeping with the brand’s motto that ‘elegance is an attitude’, Longines welcomed Ambassador of Elegance Simon Baker on Saturday and awarded the Longines Prize of Elegance to the most elegant man and woman at Santa Anita Park.

Other celebrity attendees at the park included Avery Johnson, Bo Derek, Bobby Flay, Elizabeth Banks, Jim Rome, Laura Bell Bundy, Rob Dyrdek, Steven Jacksonn, Jeremy Sisto, Oriathni, Sylvester Stallone, Bode Miller, David Walton and Giada de Laurentiis. Kristin Chenoweth performed “Best is Yet to Come” before the Breeders’ Cup Classic, while Richie Sambora performed the National Anthem.
