7 Must-Have Ingredients from the Ritz Carlton ‘Kitchen Table’
As if luxuriating atop Nob Hill at the Ritz Carlton couldn’t get better. Now, there’s a sexy new dining experience that involves a prix fix dinner menu, insider experience in the kitchen, wine pairings with dinner and over-the-top desserts…and guests are able to meet and greet with Executive Chef Michael Rotondo and Sous Chefs of the Ritz Carlton.
Haute Living was among a select few to have a first glimpse into the exquisite “kitchen table” experience at Parallel 37, which is available for groups of up to 8 people, and starts in the kitchen where guests enjoy a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres with Chef Rotondo. Then, guests are treated to an eight-course dinner with beverage pairing at the kitchen-adjacent Chef’s Table featuring the day’s best ingredients.
The inspiration for this experience came about this summer when Parallel 37 welcomed Restaurant Manager Ryan Stetins, an alumnus of the legendary Charlie Trotter in Chicago. The renowned “kitchen table” at Trotter’s was the first in the U.S., and now that Stetins and Rotondo are together, they decided to create the Parallel 37 Kitchen Table in homage to their late mentor. Trust us, after partaking in this experience, you’ll be so satisfied (and full!) that you may need to book a room at the Ritz.
At the end of the night, Chef Rotondo gave us the scoop on seven ingredients that he can’t get enough of right now:
1. I’m a huge lover of seafood
2. Organic vegetables
3. Of course, heirloom tomatoes.
4. Any type of stone fruit – white nectarines are unbelieable this season.
5. Crustaceans and different types of mollusks – right now we have the The Monterey Squid, which is just killer. It’s great on the grill or sautéed.
6. Different types of English Peas
7. Fava beans
