Haute Event: Chris Paul, Pentatonix Dine at Tao Asian Bistro

Chris Paul at TAO

Pentatonix, an a capella group best known for winning the third season of “The Sing-Off” on NBC, dined at Tao Asian Bistro at the Venetian on Friday night. The vocalists sipped on TAO-tinis and enjoyed a few of the restaurant’s signature dishes including the satay of Chilean sea bass, crispy orange chicken, diver sea scallops with red curry and Thai basil and wok-seared New York sirloin with shiitake mushrooms and Szechwan potatoes.

Also at Tao Asian Bistro was Los Angeles Clippers’ point guard Chris Paul with friends. The group enjoyed Tao’s signature Dragon Slayer cocktail and dined on Paul’s favorite Tao dish, the miso-glazed Chilean sea bass, along with crispy orange chicken and crispy coconut shrimp with spicy Thai peanut sauce. While at the restaurant, the NBA star headed back to the kitchen to see if he could talk executive chef Sean Kinoshita into giving him the recipe for his favorite dish. For dessert, everyone enjoyed another favorite of Paul’s, the Oreo zeppole from Lavo Italian Restaurant, which was sent over specially for the star. The group then headed upstairs to Tao Nightclub where they partied from a VIP table on the dance floor.

NBA player and Golden State Warriors’ center-forward Jermaine O’Neal was also spotted at Tao Nightclub. O’Neal and a group of friends took over a VIP table and partied to the sounds of DJ Eric D-Lux.
