It’s no secret that Mercedes-Benz sedans are followed by parallel coupe renditions to focus acutely on the performance attributes of the luxury liners from the Stuggart, Germany based automaker. When the company unleashed the opulent S-Class in 2013 the vehicle made quite a splash amongst technologically and aesthetically driven connoisseurs of fine automobiles. So of course we knew M-B would intersperse the comfort and intelligence of their prominent four-door sedan with the allure and dominance of their exclusive, high-end two-door coupe, better known as the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.

The large coupe has always been the supreme pinnacle of our model range and that’s why it’s now called the ‘S-Class’ again.”
The heart of the S550 Coupe emanates from a 4.7-liter V8 biturbo engine which beats out 449 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. M-B says this power unit will also be complemented with a very fervent exhaust system. Available as a 4MATIC only, expect the dynamics and sporty driving characteristics of the S550 to be flawless. Its AWD capabilities will further allow owners to swap out for winter or all-season tires and continue relishing the benefits of their two-door chariot in wintry states. Familiar preventative, safety and performance technologies from the S-Class are bestowed to the new performance coupe by way of Intelligent Drive, PRE-SAFE brake with pedestrian detection, DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist, BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive High-beam, and a head-up display.
Step inside the ultra-elite interior of the S550 Coupe and witness a world of superior craftsmanship and ingenuity. For example, the panorama sunroof hovers over 66% of the roof and features MAGIC SKY CONTROL which can alternate the transparency of the glass between light and dark. Add in either of two sophisticated, high-end audio systems from Burmester, a “wrap-around” split dash, wide-screen TFT display, and distinct nappa designo leather with diamond stitching and your performance fantasy car has now become a live-in dream.
