Violet Grey held its inaugural “She’s So Violet” dinner in Los Angeles last night honoring the memory of Elizabeth Taylor in collaboration with the late actress’ AIDS Foundation.

The event, hosted by Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey, Carole Bayer Sager and Lorraine Schwartz, was held at Violet Grey’s Melrose Place store.

The fete took place in order to honor Taylor’s legacy; her Hollywood glamour and female empowerment, on the eve of what would have been her 82nd birthday.

Attendees included Eva Mendes, Pharrell Williams, Chanel Iman, Jack Nicholson, Anjelica Huston, Carole Radziwill, Alice Eve, Robert Evans, Erin Wasson, Brad Grey and Bruce Weber.

Dom Pérignon curated the menu for the evening, flying in Chef de Cuisine Pascal Tingaud and Chef De Cave Richard Geoffroy from France for the intimate event.

Violet Grey is dedicated to celebrating the lost glamour of Hollywood, and no one was as glamorous as Elizabeth Taylor whose famous violet eyes inspired the naming of the company. Founded by Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey, the company’s editorial platform, The Violet Files, will soon be accompanied by e-commerce and a retail store on Melrose Place designed by Studio Sofield—both launching in March 2014.
