Inside the Reopening of Diamond Horseshoe at the Paramount Hotel

News | January 7, 2014

New Year’s Eve marked the reopening of the Diamond Horseshoe, which opened for the first time 75 years ago, and is now owned by Aby Rosen, real estate entrepreneur and owner of the Paramount Hotel. Attendees included Randy Weiner, Simon Hammerstein, Christine Jones, Jennifer Rubell, Jason Kellert (all part of the creative team), Andre Balazs, Michael Avedon, Zachary Quinto, among many others. Guests were honored by a very special VIP—Paulette Harwood, one of the original Diamond Horseshoe prima ballerinas. She came with her daughter Paula and son-in-law, Peter Gallagher.

Guests drank champagne and feasted on lobsters served in bird cages, whole roast pigs, and smoked short ribs, while attending the preview of The Queen of the Night, a dark debutante ball thrown by The Marchesa for her daughter Pamina.

The preview of the show, which is a mix of performance, music, circus, cuisine, and design, will run until its premiere in Feb.
