Princess Diana remains a fascinating topic for many individuals, so it should come as no surprise that her glamourous gown sold for more than twice the estimated value—$167,000—at a recent auction. David and Elizabeth Emmanuel, the same design duo that made her wedding gown, created the fairytale princess dress. The late beauty chose the frock from the designer’s existing collection and wore it on multiple occasions, including the James Bond premier of “The Living Daylights” in 1986.

The desirable white evening dress boasts a full white skirt with tasteful beading and an angled sweetheart neckline. Princess Diana wore the dress without the matching sleeve panels and headband, instead opting to pair it with long white gloves. “It is perhaps one of the most ornate, romantic of all her gowns,” Kerry Taylor Auctions of London said in a statement.
