Dont Break Her Shaker! A Pre-Basel Art ‘n Fashion Experience Featuring KRELwear
I knew who Karelle Levy was when I turned sixteen. We sold her line at Chroma on Lincoln Road, the one stop shop for fashion that no longer exists. Out of every experience in life, I take the good. I took Karelle, and we became amazing friends, after all we did both grow up in Golden Beach. Instant connection!
The newly engaged Karelle of KRELwear is now living between Miami and London, but while she is here in Miami she uses her time wisely. In fact, on at 8 p.m. November 8th, she is getting to work at The Broken Shaker at the Freehand Hotel. What will be going on? It is the fifth edition of The Drawing Room, a monthly event matching the best of emerging to mid-level local artists with some of the finest in the cocktail movement. The Drawing Room is a cohesive collaboration across two of Miami’s largest cultural platforms focusing on a “support the locals” vibe.
This month it is Karelle who will be creating a site-specific installation and presenting a fashion show with one of a kind hand-knit couture pieces. Levy’s fashion line is the ultimate Miami outwear, featuring sheer fabrics, hot pants, and neon colors.
Each month a Miami-based artist is invited to incorporate their work throughout the style and space of the Freehand Miami, indoor and out. Inspired by the artist’s artwork and pallet preference, The Broken Shaker creates a custom cocktail, featured special, intertwining the two crafts into one rousing escapade.
The Drawing Room’s creative direction is steered by Eunique Fowler and curated by Dominique Breard, and takes place every second Friday of the month at The Freehand Miami, located at 2727 Indian Creek Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33140.
