Remember how much I loved Chuck’s Manufacturing (224 North Michigan), I went on and one about all the twist on favorites and how cool it was. Well, Chuck’s as we once knew it is no more, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. They have teamed up with acclaimed chef Kerry Simon –an Evanston native- and as of today (November 19) the restaurant has gotten a new concept and name, Chuck’s: A Kerry Simon Kitchen. The restaurant is still brought to you by the good people at Becker Entertaiment, but Chef Kerry Simon will oversee all food and beverage programming, as well as menu development, service training and supervision of culinary operations.

“Kerry Simon has the distinction of being one of America’s premier chefs and is a true culinary genius,” said Carrie Meghie, Founder and Principal, Becker Entertainment. “Chuck’s has a strong foundation and enjoys a loyal clientele. This dynamic joining will serve as a mutually beneficial partnership for both Simon and Chuck’s.”

Chef Simon’s resume spans over 20 years and reaches from New York to Los Angeles. This venture will be a sort of homecoming for Chef Simon, he was looking for something fresh, and when he discovered Chuck’s, he immediately had a vision of how to take it to the next level while he adds his own touch to the already popular restaurant. To bring that vision to reality, he enlisted his brother Scott Simon to be the restaurant’s Executive Chef.

“My career has taken me to some incredible destinations but there is nothing like returning home to Chicago,” said Kerry Simon. “The city has a flavor completely its own; this partnership with Chuck’s allows me the opportunity to have some fun paying homage to those signature profiles while infusing it with my own culinary style.”

The re-concepted Chuck’s is open today so you can head down there today and see what’s new at the haute spot, including the Bond “Goldfinger” inspired décor. Chuck’s: A Kerry Simon Kitchen is open seven days a week from 11AM to 11PM. You can reach them at www.chuckschicago.com and/or 312-334-6700.
