Thomas Keller Opens Retail Shop
Thomas Keller has added store owner to his impressive resumé. The celebrated chef recently debuted a 450-square-foot retail store called Finesse. The shop is located in Yountville, Calif. near Keller’s Bouchon and French Laundry, and will sell a range of Keller-branded goods including signed cookbooks, apparel, seeds from the French Laundry garden and kitchen tools like a $900 limited edition MAC knife set. The opening of the shop also coincides with the release of the new issue of the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group’s (TKRG) bi-annual magazine, also named Finesse.

Sheryl Sandberg Sells Facebook Shares for $91 Million
Social media giant and Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg sold shares in the company totaling approximately $91 million. She sold her stock in Facebook at an average price of $38 per share as the stock neared its highest closing levels ever. Sandberg has sold Facebook shares several times in the past year. Last year alone, she cashed out around $50 million after Facebook went public in May.

George Lucas Buys $10 Million Stake in Starbucks  
Billionaire film producer George Lucas purchased a $10 million stake in Starbucks Corp. through his trust. In a filing done by Lucas’ new wife and Starbucks board member Mellody Hobson with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Lucas’ GWL Living Trust purchased 141,573 shares on August 19 for an average price of $70.60 per share. Lucas recently sold his company Lucasfilm Ltd. to Disney for about $4 billion of cash and stock.

Yahoo! Unveils New Logo as Part of Makeover Under CEO Marissa Mayer
Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer unveiled the company’s first refreshed logo in its 18-year history. The logo was planned to the smallest details by Mayer and her design team, and comes after the Internet giant ran a month-long media campaign parading each rejected logo every day. The redesign is part of an ongoing overhaul of Yahoo! that started when the former Google executive took over 14 months ago. She has already spruced up Yahoo’s front page, email and Flickr photo-sharing service, as well as engineering a series of acquisitions aimed at attracting more traffic on mobile devices.

Jerry Rice Sells Atherton Mansion After Six Years
NFL legend and Hall of Famer Jerry Rice has finally sold his custom-built Atherton mansion after almost six years. The six-bedroom, ten-bathroom mansion, originally built in 2001, was put on the market in 2007 for $22 million. But after failing to find a buyer, the former San Francisco 49er sold the home for less than half the original asking price at $9 million. The impressive home, set on 1.4 acres of one of the U.S’s most expensive zip codes, boasts a vast array of luxuries including a guesthouse, deluxe home cinema, elevator and game room with full bar. Befitting for a sportsman known for his grueling workouts, the mansion also has a full gym with steam room, sauna and plunge pool. There is also a seven-car garage and a 5,000 sq ft basement, which houses a game room, full bar, wine room and craft room.
