JW Marriott Chicago Creates Special Cocktail for Jazz Fest
Labor Day is just about here and for most people it equals a three-day weekend. It also means one of our city’s favorite traditions, the Chicago Jazz Festival, is about to start. And seeing that the JW Marriott Chicago (151 West Adams) is one of the city’s favorite luxury hotels, it’s only right they do something special. From now until September 2nd, the Lobby Lounge in the landmark hotel will have a music-inspired cocktail called Jazz at Dusk ($12). To make the cocktail, bartender Laura Green rinses a glass with Lagavulin before filling it with a combination of Bulleit Bourbon, Hennessey VSOP, Angostura Bitters, Fee Brothers Chocolate bitters and maple syrup. She wanted to make the drink as sweet and smooth as the music you will hear at the Jazz Festival. They were actually kind enough to let me in on how they make the drink, I’m going to share how much of each ingredient is in the Jazz at Dusk cocktail with you guys so you know exactly what you’re going to be enjoying when you pay the Lobby Lounge a visit this Labor Day/Jazz weekend.
