Neil Patrick Harris to Star in Broadway’s ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch’
Broadway fan-favorite Neil Patrick Harris is returning to the stage next year to star in the musical, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” Written by John Cameron Mitchell and composer Stephen Trask, the cult play turned movie tells the story of a transexual punk rock girl from East Berlin touring the US with her rock band.
“I am simultaneously ecstatic and terrified to be stepping into Hedwig’s heels,” Harris said in a statement. “It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime role and I can’t wait to begin the journey.”
The four-time Tony Award host has appeared in three Broadway productions, including “Assassins,” “Proof” and “Cabaret.”
