Fusion Japanese Restaurant Kanpai Opens its Doors in Souk Al Bahar

Contemporary Japanese restaurant and lounge Kanpai recently opened in Souk Al Bahar adding a new addition to Downtown Dubai’s vibrant culinary scene.

Named after the Japanese word for ‘cheers’, Kanpai offers guests a trendy lounge atmosphere in which to enjoy signature cocktails prepared by expert mixologists. Guests can dine in the adjacent restaurant, which serves contemporary fusion Japanese cuisine. Funky and contemporary interiors boast a selection of rich materials and traditional Japanese elements such as larger than life, hand crafted Samurai statues and a striking six-meter long, onyx social bar.  The lounge also features an impressive state of the art Function 1 sound system that allows guests to speak comfortably even when the music is loud. Also showcased is an evolutionary DJ multi-touch emulator – the first of its kind to be showcased in Dubai.

The beautifully 5,500 square foot space is conveniently located in the heart of the Souk, and is managed by F&B operators Lava Hospitality Group spearheaded by Ahmad Atwi and Michael Gong.

Kanpai offers a refined cuisine which includes fusion delicacies, an exciting selection of sushi, a dedicated live Teppanyaki suite, as well as an array of culinary marvels from its extensive menu created by Chef Tan whose immense expertise in Asian Fusion cooking can be attributed to his interesting journey working for signature restaurants at five star hotels across the globe. “We have worked very hard at carefully building Kanpai into the perfect mix of exquisite Japanese fusion cuisine, with flawless service, lively entertainment and all in a comfortable, luxury environment,” says Co-Owner of Kanpai, Ahmed Atwi.
