Lucques owners Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne will be hosting the inaugural Sunday Suppers at Lucques Book Club Dinner on May 19 at Lucques restaurant on Melrose Avenue.
The Lucques Book Club Dinner is designed for fans of Suzanne’s James Beard Award-winning cookbook, according to a press release, and was inspired by Oakland resident Sigrid Deusberg who gathered a small group of women in 2009 to meet every 6-8 weeks and work through preparing menus from Goin’s book. The book includes 130 recipes and menus, and thus far Deusberg’s group has cooked 19 of the menus together.
In anticipation of the upcoming event at Lucques, the restaurant will be awarding a Sunday Suppers for two “to the winner of best photo posted on Facebook of a fan’s execution of one of Suzanne’s Sunday Supper dishes.” On the evening of the dinner, a drawing will also be held to award a lucky winner a copy of Sunday Suppers at Lucques, personalized by Suzanne. The event will feature three courses of Lucques classics and Goin will be cooking and joining guests in the dining room to personalize copies of her cookbook.
The inaugural Lucques Book Club Dinner’s menu is yet to be announced and tickets cost $45 per person. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on May 19 at Lucques restaurant, which is located at 8474 Melrose Avenue.
Reservations for the event can be made at Lucques website.
