One Night + Three Galas = Three Great Causes to Support

This coming Friday, May 17th, will be a night for San Francisco philanthropy to shine. Charity events are springing up with intentions of doing good for the local community. Whether or not you choose to attend one or more of these amazing events, one thing is for sure: there are many ways for us to lend support those in need.  Have a look (or buy some tickets!) to any of these three amazing events.

City Youth Now GalaEvent: City Youth Now’s Spring Gala

City Youth Now (CYN), the first non-profit organization of its kind in the history of the United States juvenile court system, will hold its annual Spring Gala at San Francisco’s Bently Reserve on Friday, May 17th, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.  This year’s event, entitled “A Night of Infinite Possibilities,” will honor Kathleen and Anne Ryan for their faithful dedication to the lives of San Francisco’s children and their support of City Youth Now for more than 40 years.

CNY will present academic scholarships to foster children and probation youth who have shown extraordinary effort and dedication and are continuing on to college.  The organization will also recognize the outstanding achievements of youth involved in the CYN program.

The evening’s activities will include a formal dinner, a hosted bar, silent and live auctions including several extra-special items, such as a weekend golf getaway at Silverado Resort or a city stay at Clift Hotel with dinner in the Velvet Room and tickets to Beach Blanket Babylon and the San Francisco Ballet to assist the organization in raising much needed funds to continue its mission.  The evening will close with dancing to live music by the Pure Ecstasy band and a late night whiskey bar.

Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) will celebrate 32 years of providing affordable housing and services for low-income people in the Tenderloin and throughout San Francisco at its 32nd Birthday Dinner on Friday, May 17 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.   The festive evening will feature cocktails, dinner, a heartwarming program emceed by ABC7 anchor Cheryl Jennings, dancing with live entertainment by GEORGE COLE – Gypsy-Jazz & Uptown Swing, and DJ Rafa S, a special rendition of “Happy Birthday” sung by a cast member of Beach Blanket Babylon and the annual presentation of the Brother Kelly Cullen Community Award

Hundreds of supporters will be on hand to toast TNDC’s long history of providing safe, affordable housing and support services for low-income people in San Francisco. Individual tickets to TNDC’s 32nd Anniversary Dinner are $200 each, and tables start at $2,000.

Amanda Heier, Executive Director of Raphael House, San Francisco’s first charity dedicated to transitioning families beyond homelessness, announced that the highly anticipated, annual One Home, Many Hearts Gala will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013.  Held at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, the black tie affair will include both a silent and live auction, a delicious dinner prepared by Executive Chef Mark Richardson’s culinary team and dancing to the tunes of renowned Bay Area DJ, Jake McLelan of Event Jump.

The 2013 One Home, Many Hearts Gala is themed “Through the Eyes of a Child,” and celebrates the perspective of Raphael House’s programming.  Dominic Phillips Event Marketing (DPEM) has created a décor that will be whimsical and imaginative to match the mood.  Tiffany & Co. will auction off 100 gift boxes, with one box including a diamond pendant necklace. Lively music, sparkling wine and delicious food by Four Seasons Chef, Mark Richardson and his team will make for a spectacular evening straight out of a fairytale.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a hosted cocktail and champagne reception with delicious hors d’oeuvres and silent auction, followed by dinner.  Bay Area favorite, KPIX’s Liam Mayclem will lead guests through a riveting live auction before dessert, and dancing to the tunes of DJ Jake will end the night on a high note.
