AGC Presents Chefs’ Playground

AGC

The Academy for Global Citizenship (AGC) is a Chicago public charter school located on the southwest side of the city. The school has been internationally recognized for producing a replicable model for learning in the 21st century. They are focused on creating a net-positive energy prototype campus on an 11-acre urban farm and there are people that are trying to help, including some of the top chefs in Chicago. AGC has partnered with Bon Appetite Management Company and created a special evening that will give guests exclusive access to some of the best and most popular chefs in the city. Titled Chefs’ Playground, the evening will be filled with school-themed tasting size dishes and guests will be able to go from station to station sampling all the chefs’ creations.

I grew up in Chicago and I don’t ever recall having a haute spin put on any of our lunches, so if you’re like me you will get to see for the first time a school lunch that you will actually want. The list of chefs preparing the dishes is basically a who’s who of culinary giants. It will be held Thursday, May 16 from 7-10PM at Terzo Piano at the modern wing of the Art Institute of Chicago (111 South Michigan), joining Terzo Piano owner and renowned chef Tony Montuano will be Jimmy Bannos, Jimmy Bannos Jr., Rick Bayless, Jose Garces, Hedy Goldsmith, Sarah Gruenberg, Charles Joly, Paul Kahan, Bill Kim, Jeff Mauro, Megan Neubeck, Giuseppe Tentori, Marcela Valladolid and Takashi Yagihashi. Probably the single most impressive list of chefs you will ever see at one event. Besides the food there will also be live and silent auctions that are promised to impress. Tickets for Chefs’ Playground are $225 for general admission (VIP $300), for more information or to purchase tickets you can click here
