Time Out Chicago’s 2013 Eat Out awards went down there were a lot of tight races. Most interesting is there was only one vote separating the winner of the Best New Restaurant and the runner up, which was the closest race in the awards history. There were two different lists of awards, the Critics’ Picks and the Readers’ Choice. It’s funny because there were awards given away like “Biggest Threat to Chipotle” (Covo) that made me laugh. The full list of Critics’ Picks are below, while the Readers’ Choice picks can be found here. I will let you know that the readers chose Fat Rice (2957 West Diversey) as the best new restaurant and the Bang Bang Pie Shop (2051 N. California) as the best new sweets shop, which is my favorite category.
