JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Christie’s have announced the 12th exhibition in their ongoing series of cultural events around the world. In the second exhibition by the duo in Chicago, they will be offering guests a first look at more than 20 highlights from Christie’s upcoming spring auction season. This is a definite treat for those interested in art and cultural highlights in the city. Before the incredible paintings hit the auction block, they will be on display at the JW Marriott Chicago (151 West Adams Street) from Tuesday, April 16 through Thursday, April 18, 2013.

“We are thrilled to be working with Christie’s at JW Marriott Chicago for the second time,” says Mitzi Gaskins, Vice President & Global Brand Manager for JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts. “This exclusive exhibition coupled with artful dishes and cocktails allow the local community and guests of the JW Marriott Chicago to enrich their travel experiences in new and exciting ways.”

This is a public event that will see the pieces being presented in the marble-clad mezzanine level of the luxury hotel. It’s just such an amazing opportunity to see works of art before they hit auction and I hope people take advantage of this cultural treat. Afterwards, guests can head over to the hotel’s Lobby Lounge and enjoy art-inspired cocktails and bites courtesy of Executive Chef Michael Reich. There will be specialty items available during the exhibition; including Duck Confit ($9) that pays homage to the garden setting of Childe Hassam’s In A French Garden with ramp pesto, crisp kale and red pepper oil Chanterelle Fave ($7) with chanterelle mushrooms fava beans, lentil cracker and tangerine gastrique to commemorate Edward Hopper’s Kelly Jenness House and more art-inspired food and cocktails.
