
Tribeca Film Festival To Open With Documentary About NYC Band The National
The 12th annual Tribeca Film Festival will open on April 17 with a film entitled “Mistaken for Strangers,” which centers a New York City band called The National. Directed by Tom Berninger (brother of the band’s lead singer, Matt Berninger), the documentary is being hailed as “a highly personal and lighthearted story about brotherly love,” according to the festival’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Gilmore.
The indie band, who are currently work on their sixth studio album, will also perform following the premiere. The Tribeca Film Festival runs April 17 through April 28.
