Richard Wagner’s Musical Drama ‘The Flying Dutchman’ Debuts at LA Opera

‘The Flying Dutchman’ debuted at the Los Angeles Opera on March 9, led by James Conlon, one of the leading Richard Wagner interpreters. The production will run six performances through March 30.
The LA Opera has become of the nation’s “most ambitious opera companies under the leadership of General Director Placido Domingo and Music Director James Conlon,” according to Southern California Public Radio. For its 27th season, LA Opera is presenting ‘The Flying Dutchman,’ a production that features an “enthralling score and illuminated by striking stage imagery.”
Running approximately two-and-a-half hours, this new LA Opera production includes lead soprano Elisabete Matos, Icelandic baritone Tomas Tomasson, James Creswell, Matthew Plenk and Ronnita Nicole Miller.

March 24 at 2 p.m.
March 27 at 7:30 p.m.
March 30 at 7:30 p.m.
