Regis Philbin To Host Daily Talk Show on Fox Sports 1

After retiring from his hosting duties on “Live! With Regis and Kelly” only two years ago, 81-year-old Regis Philbin is ready to be back in the broadcasting action! Philbin just signed on to host a daily talk show called “Rush Hour” on ESPN’s new rival, Fox Sports 1.

“I like sleeping late,” he told the New York Daily News. “I wasn’t bored at all. I just like sports and a talk show is always fun to do.”

Fox Sports 1 will launch in August in hopes of surpassing ESPN as the dominant sports cable channel. The network will feature a variety of programming including Major League Baseball games, UFC fights, NFL games NASCAR, soccer, college basketball and now — Philbin.

“Regis appeals to everyone,” explained Fox Sports chief Eric Shanks.
