Ashton Kutcher Tributes Steve Jobs as His “Hero” at Macworld Trade Show

Set to hit theaters in April, jOBS is the new biopic about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, featuring Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher. After premiering last week at the Sundance Film Festival, the movie has been receiving rave reviews. Kutcher recently spoke at the Macworld trade show, paying tribute to the former computer icon and calling him his ‘hero’.
“If this story is going to get told, I want to get it told in a way that honors my hero,” Kutcher told the audience at Macworld on Thursday. He later tweeted a split-screen photo of himself and Jobs with the caption “Thank you Sundance for your support of Jobs,” according to The Los Angeles Times.
Jobs passed away in 2011 of pancreatic cancer. The film depicts Jobs life and work from 1877 to 2000 and stars Josh Gad as Jobs’ partner Steve Wozniak.
“Ashton is going to blow a lot of people away,” Gad told Us Weekly last year. “His performance was absolutely transformational. If he looked any more like Steve Jobs, I think it would just confuse a lot of people in thinking Steve Jobs never passed away. It’s that uncanny.”
During the Sundance festival premiere of the highly anticipated movie, Kutcher said, “This was honestly one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever tried to do in my life. I admired this man so much. I’ve never seen Abraham Lincoln walk into a room, but I’ve seen Steve Jobs walk into a room.”
