Alexander Wang On New Balenciaga Gig: ‘It’s A Dream Come True’

Fashion designer Alexander Wang recently joined forces with Balenciaga to serve as the brand’s new creative director, effective immediately. In his new role, Wang will be responsible for designing the label’s women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collection. He will also continue to design for his own fashion house.

“I’m extremely excited. I am high on life,” he gushed to the International Herald Tribune. “It’s a dream come true … My first reaction was: ‘I am so occupied, I give 110 percent to my brand.’ Then I thought of elevating my team and being given a chance to do all those things I had at the back of my mind. I am doing something quite different from what I do here.”
