Upscale Fashion Outlet Coming To O’Hare

One of the most common stress-inducing places in the world is the airport. And O’Hare being one of the busiest can only add to the stress of flying on a bad day. But some sympathetic genius has found the perfect way to balance out the headache that can be O’Hare, just put an outlet mall five minutes away.

Most people go shopping to relieve stress, and the soon to be Fashion Outlets of Chicago is sure to help shoppers get some much needed retail therapy whenever they want. It’s also a good place to spend some time while waiting for a loved ones plane to arrive. Whether you’re flying or not, this is a big deal. It’s another huge win for Chicago and the shopping community, bringing us one step closer to dominance in the retail world.

While there are very few details about the stores that will call the outlet mall home, the couple facts that are known are enough to justify my optimism for how great it will be. It will be opening August 1, 2013 and will be a fully enclosed, gigantic 530,000 square feet. The one store that has just been announced for the retail center is a Bloomingdale’s Outlet, something the company has been slowly rolling out. It’s an upscale outlet concept that will keep the stores around 25,000 square feet. The assumption is Fashion Outlets of Chicago will mirror the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas, which has Ann Taylor, Coach, Michael Kors and so on. It will almost feel like the O’Hare version of The 900 North Michigan Shops. Whatever stores Fashion Outlets of Chicago may bring, it’s exciting and I can’t wait to see the final results.
