Studio 54 Memorabilia To Be Sold at Auction

Studio 54 may be long gone, but it’s not too late to get in on a piece of the action! Various items from the estate of club co-founder Steve Rubell will be sold at auction on Jan. 19.

The memorabilia includes photos of club regulars including Roy Halston Frowick, Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, Bianca Jagger and Farrah Fawcett, along with specialized invitations, rare VIP drink tickets and handwritten letters. The legendary Studio 54 guest book where Rubell would write which celebrities were expected that night is also up for sale.

A signed and dated sculpture of a dollar sign by Andy Warhol is expected to fetch between $30,000 and $50,000. Another covetable item up for grabs is a snapshot of Rubell taken by Warhol, which is estimated to sell for nearly $6,000.

For the last 28 years, the items were stored at the apartment Rubell shared with fashion designer Bill Hamilton. Bidding will be possible online through LiveAuctioneers.com.
