The iconic Hard Rock Hotel will be celebrating the two-year anniversary of Angels and Kings Chicago (230 North Michigan) in style with a huge celebration on February 2, 2013. The anniversary event will be hosted by Kelly Zink (host of Celeb TV), Jessica Zweig (co-founder of Cheeky Chicago) and Kevin Aeh (Shopping and Style Editor at Time Out Magazine). Get ready to have a good time with good music; there will be a series of DJ sets, including DJ Rock City and DJ Dante. For that extra motivation to mingle, dance and let loose there will be no shortage of liquid courage, the event is sponsored by Effen Vodka, Beck’s Sapphire and Angel’s Envy Bourbon (Drink responsibly of course). There will be a couple surprise guests throughout the evening, but one person I can tell you will be there is musician (Fall Out Boy) and co-owner of Angels and Kings Chicago, Pete Wentz.
If you’re unfamiliar with Angels and Kings, allow me to bring you up to speed. Founded in 2007 by partners Bob McLynn and Jonathan Daniel, it was both a reminder of their mid-80s, East Village stomping grounds and also a refuge for their bands. Partners in a music management powerhouse, they decided that it would be perfect to make it a bar, or clubhouse of sorts, that their bands could call home. And they really have some heavyweights in their stable, including Fall Out Boy, Courtney Love/Hole, Panic at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship and many more. With the support of Pete Wentz and others from the house that they built, they went public and opened spots in Chicago, Los Angeles and Barcelona. It’s become one of the premiere spots to hang out and have a good time, since joining up with Becker Entertainment in 2010, they have continued to expand the brand and the future looks even brighter for the company.
But forget about history for now and let’s focus on the immediate future, come and have a great time February 2nd with the amazing hosts, Pete Wentz, some special guests, the who’s who of Chicago and little old me.
