Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson & James Taylor To Perform at President Obama’s Inauguration
President Barack Obama‘s inauguration is shaping up to be a rockin’ good time! The president personally selected hit-makers Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor to perform at his swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 21.
Beyonce will sing the national anthem, Clarkson will perform “My Country `Tis of Thee” and Taylor will sing “America the Beautiful,” according to event organizers. “Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country,” Obama said during a recent statement.
Though Beyonce and Taylor have always been devoted Obama supporters, Clarkson previously said she was a fan of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul for the 2012 race. Nonetheless, the American Idol winner wrote on Twitter that she is “excited & honored” to perform at the inauguration.
