The World’s Most Expensive $200,000 Christmas Dinner

Not in the mood to cook Christmas dinner this year? Not to worry — British chef Ben Spalding has got you covered! The London super-chef is cooking one Christmas dinner for a family of four and selling it for $200,000 through luxury e-commerce site veryfirstto.com.

So, what’s on the menu?

The meal begins with a $3,200 bottle of Diva vodka and a $60,000 bottle of Piper Heidsieck 1907 Champagne served in diamond-studded flutes. The first course consists of a bird’s nest full of Almas caviar with 150-year-old balsamic vinegar and Pata Negra Iberico jambon. The second course features a whole white Alba truffle served with a $4,000 melon imported from China.

The meal’s centerpiece is a rare breed of turkey served with Wagyu beef heart and fillet paired with Perigord truffles and $8,000 worth of pistachios. And it’s all wrapped in a $9,600 edible gold leaf.

Dessert is served on a “gold Ugandan vanilla plate” and incorporates the beans of coffee berries “excreted by the Asian Palm Civet cat,” and Densuke watermelon, “a seedless fruit grown only on the island of Hokkaido, Japan, where up to 10,000 watermelons are produced every year.”

The dinner will be cooked at the buyer’s home by Spalding, the head chef at John Salt in Islington, North London. Spalding previously worked with Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal.

“This menu is certainly for expensive taste-buds but it will be an unrivaled gastronomic delight,” said Marcel Knobil, the founder of website that’s offering the culinary experience. “It fits perfectly into our remit of enabling individuals to be the first to know about and have newly launching luxury products and experiences.”
