Burberry Opens With A Bang

After all the chatter and excitement about the new redesigned Burberry store (633 North Michigan Avenue), the doors to the new flagship are finally open. And you know they didn’t open without throwing a huge party. On November 29th most of the city’s influential bloggers and trendsetters attended the grand opening and were treated to an amazing evening.

The party started with a fancy display of flair by having confetti rain down from the roof while “London Calling” by the Clash echoed throughout the store. The night pretty much carried on in organized chaos with attendees enjoying a performance by Carl Barat of the Libertines (an English rock band for those unfamiliar). All of the excitement and anxiousness was for good reason, the store was two years in the making and we have been teased for weeks looking at an almost completed store. But now the huge five-story store (the second largest U.S. location) is open and we can shop and enjoy the fashions that the London-based brand and it’s creative director, Christopher Bailey (who created the plaid glass façade on the store), are known for, including the iconic trenches and signature Burberry print.
