A Look at Chuck’s Manufacturing

One of the main things I, along with most other Chicagoans, love about this city is the food. Chicago is one of the top restaurant cities in the world; we offer the best of every kind of cuisine known to mankind (no exaggeration). And anytime a new restaurant comes to town, we have to assess whether it’s worthy of being included on the list of the city’s greats. It has to be original, it has to have personality, but most of all it has to have great food. Lucky for us, Becker Entertainment has brought Chicago a new dining experience that has all three of these components and more; I would like to introduce Chuck’s Manufacturing.

Opening this past August, Chuck’s has been attracting more and more of downtown’s business professionals. Whether it’s for a power lunch or an after-work meal, this restaurant has been making people believers day in and day out. This 4,000 square-foot restaurant and bar caters to the business professional and lifestyle entrepreneur. For those who don’t know what a lifestyle entrepreneur is, it’s someone who has turned their passion into profit. Someone who is committed to doing what he or she loves to the best of their ability and are determined to succeed at all costs. Chuck’s embodies that spirit and has created an atmosphere that speaks to it.

Chuck’s has created several unique experiences for its customers. For those who are dining alone, there is ‘Solo-Dining’ which gives you space to have your laptop out while enjoying your meal or cocktail. And if you need to recharge your electronics as well, there are outlet stations all over the restaurant to help you out. And the help continues if you end up leaving your charger at home, Chuck’s will loan you a charger for your Blackberry, iPhone, or Android phone. There’s also a semi-private lounge and private dining rooms in case you are in need of privacy for business meetings, no matter the size. And when customers need to unwind there are special guest DJ’s, a signature drink menu, and a live music line-up every Friday and Saturday. They also have Live DJ Overtime, their own version of Happy Hour Monday – Friday 5-7pm. Did I mention they have a Vodka bar with over 100 flavored vodkas? Well, they do. This place really knows how to entertain its customers.

Entertainment. convenience and liquor are great features, but this is still a restaurant and the most important thing is the food. Chuck’s and Chef de Cuisine, Justine Frankenberg, have it covered. They have taken home-style and Chicago classics and reengineered them to create a unique dining experience. One of the standouts is the PBLT, which is the Midwest favorite Pork Belly added to the traditional bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. My favorite thing on any menu is the Crab Cake and the “CM Crab Cake” passes the test with pancetta, grilled tomato, cornichons, and sweet remoulade. Chef Frankenberg also put a spin on Chicago’s beloved brats with the ‘Trio of CM Brats” which are mini Vienna brats grilled and bathed in Two Brothers Ale, then topped with caramelized onions. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, I would be writing all day if I wanted to highlight all of their great menu items. But if you get there and can’t decide what you want, you can “manufacture” your meal by selecting three menu items and you will receive three tasting portions to create your own customized meal. I think it’s appropriate to say Chuck’s has all of its bases covered. So whether you’re a lifestyle entrepreneur, live or work downtown, staying at the Hard Rock Hotel (where it’s located), or just hungry, it’s definitely worth checking out.
