On May 19, the “Wickedly Magical Evening in Oz” will take place at the Sacramento Convention Center to benefit California Musical Theatre, which provides theatre education programs for the Sacramento community and brings high quality theatrical performances to the city.

Starting at 6 p.m., the Wicked-themed gala will kick off with a reception followed by a dinner at 7 p.m. The black (or green, according to event organizers) tie event will also feature live entertainment by Hip Service and Sacramento local Teal Wicks, who starred in Wicked on Broadway in both San Francisco and Los Angeles.

A live auction will take place with David Sobon Auctions and items include an opening night package for 4 to Broadway’s Book of Mormon in Los Angeles and a chance to meet Peter Pan star Cathy Rigby.

For the event, the Sacramento Convention Center Ballroom will be transformed into the “Oz Dust Ballroom” to coincide with the Wicked theme, in honor of the show opening at the Community Center Theater on May 23.

Reservations for the gala event can be made by phone (916-446-5880, ext. 123) and should be made by May 15.

General tickets are priced at $200, Patron tickets are priced at $250 and a table of 10 is priced at $2,500.
