Hong Kong to Host ART HK 12, International Art Fair

Hong Kong has gained the reputation as the third-largest art auction center in the world, behind New York and London respectively. The city plays host to a slew of predominant art fairs including the upcoming ART HK 12, an international art festival that will see 63,000 guests from all over the world. The art fair, which will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), will bring together 266 galleries representing 38 territories. Art fanatics will be presented with the best of contemporary art from some of the world’s most influential galleries including Gagosian Gallery, Marian Goodman Gallery, Sean Kelly Gallery and Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin.

Hong Kong has become a thriving city in the world of art, the epicenter of art in Asia. US Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board Bill Flora said, “With Art Basel taking notice of the Hong Kong art scene with a 60% stake in ART HK, it’s not only a sign of validation but an indicator of Hong Kong’s important influence on the global art scene.”

ART HK 12 will take place from May 17 to 20.
