The eighth annual “A Gift of Love” benefit gala is scheduled for May 4 in Fortuna, California. The Eel River Valley Foundation will be presenting the gala to benefit its current priority project, Suzanna’s House.

Featuring hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar, a dinner catered by C&C Market and a silent auction, the gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Dr. John Montgomery as the master of ceremonies and Rex Bohn as the auctioneer. Local jazz musician Mary Jo Cassasanta will provide musical entertainment.

During the silent auction, 10lbs of crab and local wine will be offered, in addition to a four-hour limousine trip and a trip for two to the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino. During the live auction, a one-night stay and golf at the Benbow Inn, Turnbull wine, a hunting trip to Africa and San Francisco Giants baseball tickets will be presented.

Tickets to the gala cost $50 each guests may choose their dinner from a list of prime rib, chicken cordon bleu or a vegetarian option.

Established to promote, enhance and contribute to the education, health care and general well-being of residents of the Eel River Valley, the Eel River Valley Foundation’s current priority charity is Suzanna’s House, which provides comfortable and affordable temporary housing for Redwood Memorial Hospital patients and their loved ones.
