Paying tribute to Russian painter Konstantin Korovin on the 150th anniversary of his birth, Moscow’s Tretyakov Gallery will be hosting a jubilee exhibition.

The exhibition will feature around 240 pieces from more than 20 museums in Russia, Kazakhstan and Balarus. It will also feature some work, such as sketches of theater sets and costumes from the ballets Don Quixote and The Nutcracker from private collections.

Korovin was born in Moscow to a merchant family. In the last few years of his life he produced stage designs for many of the major theater companies of Europe, America, Asia and Australia. He died in Paris in 1939.

The Jubilee Exhibition will run through mid-August in Moscow.
