Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Exhibition Opens Mar. 21 in NYC

The iconic Royal Oak model by Audemars Piguet is turning 40 and the milestone is being commemorated in a big way. The 40th anniversary of the world’s first ever luxury sports timepiece will be marked by a worldwide exhibition celebrating the history of the globally-coveted watch and its iconic maker.

“Audemars Piguet’s iconic timepiece Royal Oak, the world’s first ever luxury sports timepiece which sparked a complete paradigm shift in the watch industry, the Swiss Manufacture from Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux has put together a unique, ephemeral exhibition.”

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 40th Anniversary exhibition opens Mar. 21 at the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Ave.). On view through Mar. 24, over 100 timepieces will be on display in the exhibit, in addition to a 300-page book: Royal Oak– a compilation of 233 illustrations and photographs outlining the rich history of the Royal Oak, which will be on display at all exhibitions stops.
