Hyatt Hotels has just announced that they are building an architecturally stunning new Park Hyatt in the center of Bangkok’s business district. The new hotel will feature a twisting coil for the combined hotel and retail complex.

London-based architect Amanda Levete (who also worked on Selfridges in London) has designed a new Park Hyatt hotel to be built in Bangkok that will have heads spinning. In coordination with Hyatt, Levete developed a unique, twisting coil to house the new Park Hyatt Bangkok with enough space for a retail complex inside as well.

Currently under construction, the hotel portion of the building will feature 222 guest rooms, including 49 suites. There will also be meeting space, a spa, business center, fitness room, a swimming pool, dining options and specialty restaurants, a lobby lounge, a sky bar and a restaurant with panoramic views of downtown Bangkok.

The Park Hyatt is expected to open in 2014 and was designed with the goal of standing out among Bangkok’s already-impressive skyline.

Park Hyatt currently has 18 properties under development worldwide, including this one in Bangkok.
