New York Fashion Week: Leather at Monique Lhuillier

Red, black and leather dominated the runway at Monique Lhuillier. The palette and prints were inspired by lava and volcanic stones, while hints of embellishment added feminine touches. Waist-cinching leather belts and patent Manolo Blahniks completed the looks.

CND’s Wanda Ruiz created a custom “Velvet Manicure” for the nails at Monique Lhuillier. Using CND Putty and Super Matte Top Coat, she produced a look that paired perfectly with the elegant gowns.

The hair—done by Odile Gilbert for Kerastase Paris—was inspired by Hollywood glamour. Using two different types of hairspray, she slicked the front of the hair, which then turned into long waves in the back. Similarly, the makeup—done by MAC—was kept simple with contoured cheeks, dewy skin and a pop of red on the lips in Lady Danger Red.
